The 3rd Biodiversity Research Presentation series was successfully organized on 16th June 2023. Ms. Reana May Yen Ng of Universiti Malaya presented her research entitled Seahorses: Traditional medicine, cultural values and trade in Sabah.
Ms. Reana is currently involved in the research entitled Seahorses: Traditional Medicince, Cultural Values and Trade in Malaysia led by Dr. Amy Then Yee Hui of Universiti Malaya. The research is funded by the small grant of Rufford Foundation. The study aims to address the gaps in local knowledge of seahorse trade diversity and volume in the traditional medicine trade and to document the cultural beliefs and perceptions towards seahorses among Malaysians.
