During this event, Dr. Tomoyuki Tajima from Kyoto University shared his research entitled Male Reproductive Tactics of Bornean Orangutans. Dr. Tomoyuki Tajima is a researcher from Japan and has conducted a 3 year research on genetic structure and paternity distribution in Bornean Orangutans in 2018 till 2021. His research took place in Danum Valley, Lahad Datu, Sabah. The presentation highlighted more on the male behavior of Bornean orangutan. Hopefully, the presentation will inspire further orang utan research to be done and documented. These records would be a useful source for forestry management and conservation efforts, as well as for future research collaborations.
