Training on Mastering Insect Digitization and Classification: An Expert's Guide
28 - 29 November 2024: The Academy of Science Malaysia (ASM) in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is pioneering a pilot project of the Digitalization and Internet of Things (IoT) Programme for Biodiversity, a visionary project funded by the Ministry of Economy within the 12th Malaysia Plan.
A series of training sessions was organized. During the programme SaBC has involved in the trainings as participants. The last series of training for 2024 was on Mastering Insect Digitisation and Classification: An Expert's Guide which was attended by the Director of SaBC, Puan Ken Kartina Khamis and Puan Nur Zaahra Karim. It was organized at UTM Kuala Lumpur. The training was also attended by Sabah Forestry Department, Mr. Razy Japir and Dayang Fazrinah binti Awang Damit.
The modelu aims to equip participants with a foundational understanding of how digital methods can enhance the study and management of insect biodiversity using artifical intelligence (AI).
