Community Environmental Leadership Camp (CELC 2025)

Han Palace Hotel, Semporna | 6-13 February 2025: CELC 2025 brought together 18 grassroots organizations, including SaBC to enhance leadership and climate change adaptation skills in Semporna. Over 7 days, participants engaged in leadership training, information-sharing sessions, and project design workshops to enhance their ability to adapt to environmental changes. 

Representing SaBC was Ms. Alessandra whose sharing session focused on how Access and Benefit Sharing and Other Effective Area-Based Conservation Measures can support climate adaptation efforts in coastal communities. Joining Ms. Alessandra were Ms. Siti Bahirah and Mr. Elter, who led the interactive activities as facilitators, fostering collaboration and active participation from the community.

This initiative, funded by YELL and DHI Malaysia, is implemented by Green Semporna in partnership with Reef Check Malaysia and Borneo Komrad. Together, we are creating a network of informed leaders ready to make a lasting impact on their communities and the environment!
