The Wildlife Atlas of Sabah (WAS) training serves as an introduction to the data collecting process and the value of records in supporting management strategies. By gathering and maintaining data records, it may provide a better understanding about the wildlife's presence and absence over time across the State, and to share this information which informs conservation management, policy makers and action. At the same time contribute data in the development of SABIIS as a long term Sabah depository for biodiversity records.
1. To demonstrate data collection and management, and share the developed WAS database.
2. To introduce SABIIS and iSABIIS, the newly developed Citizen Science Mobile Application for collecting biodiversity data in Sabah.
We aim to have 50 participants or more for the training, particularly from citizen science - tourism sector (tour guides), environmental interest group, NGOs, Sabah Parks, SFD.
